Tom Henderson recently teased a possible Star Wars game developed by Quantic Dream, which could be another PlayStation exclusive.
PlayStation has built its brand on incredible exclusive games, whether they come from a studio owner or a third-party developer. Some of the exclusive games have been ported to PC platforms in recent years, but the lion’s share remains exclusive to Sony consoles.
The recent PlayStation showcase announced that some massive games are coming to PlayStation. From God of War Ragnarök to Spider-Man 2 to Wolverine, the PlayStation platform certainly has some solid first-party games to come. For third-party gamers, the Knights of the Old Republic remake is a huge hit, but it might not be the only Star Wars game intended exclusively for the PlayStation platform.
Based on Tom Henderson’s recent tweet, it looks like Quantic Dream’s next game is a Star Wars title, which could be the next big PlayStation exclusive title.
A Quantic Dream Star Wars game could be the next big PlayStation exclusive
One of PlayStation’s most common third-party developer partnerships is with French studio Quantic Dream, headed by David Cage. Even though some of Quantic Dream’s games have recently been ported to the PC platform, this publishing partnership with PlayStation still stands. From Heavy Rain to Beyond Two Souls to Detroit: Become Human, Quantic Dream has developed some of the best scripted QTE games for PlayStation.
One of the best-known insiders, Tom Henderson, recently tweeted an image with two lightsabers and a photo from Detroit: Become Human.
Quantic Dream last released Detroit: Become Human in 2018, and many fans were expecting a new game announcement by the studio at the PlayStation Showcase. However, Lucasfilm Games has recently become more active with the Star Wars license in the games space.
While EA was exclusively producing Star Wars titles, recently studios such as Ubisoft Massive and Zynga Natural Motion were licensed to develop Star Wars games.
PlayStation has also had some access to the Star Wars title thanks to the exclusive console release of the upcoming Knights of the Old Republic remake, developed by Aspyer Media. PlayStation has also expressed interest in developing games based on established intellectual property, in the case of the Spider-Man trilogy (Spider-Man, Spider-Man Miles Morales, Spider-Man 2) as well as Wolverine.
If Quantic Dream is developing a Star Wars game for PlayStation, it would undoubtedly be a massive exclusive title.
